The prophet Daniel served a pagan king. Nehemiah was a pagan king's cupbearer. Both served God FIRST. The kingdoms they lived in were much more oppressive than our great nation. I don't know what the future holds but I know Who holds the future. I'm not going to get anxious over who will represent the Republican party come election time. My LORD has made it clear to me that my focus should be on HIM, NOT these folks vying for the GOP nomination. God Himself is going to ordain the next President (Romans 13:1). That person may be wicked, or not, but will accomplish God's purpose for this nation.

Actually, socialism has more to do with the government gaining control over the means of production - private industry. Taken to it's logical extreme, communist government OWNS the means of production.
