I arrived in Phu Bai 1-09-69. This is just outside Hue that was taken by the cong and NVA during the 68 tet and retaken by our troops.
There were alot of casualties, but the US won.
Just as on D-Day we had alot of casualties but won.
The sad truth was that the war was won totally during that Tet battle.

However, the media led by Time Ragazine took the opposite view and said we were defeated.
I think that in WW2 the staff, editors and publishers would have been rounded up for a story like that and put on trial for treason.

Even Slime magazine finally concluded 6 months later that the TET offensive was a total victory for the US, but did not publish this so not to confuse the people. huh?
