First of all, A American, I don't have the solar, I have plenty of wind. I don't have enough sun. Short of moving, no amount of cash is going to change this fact. Second, I don't have the cash. I'm just a person who would build my own homemade wind turbine out of easily available materials (and thank God I have smart birds living in the trees around me), if I could get the batteries with enough storage capacity, and safe enough, to take me off the grid. But, I've done extensive research into this, and the battery technology is nowhere near "there". And even if there were batteries in existence right now that would do the trick, I can't afford them.
