Well, I guess when you owe another country as much as we owe China, they call the shots. So much for America being the "shining city on the hill." What hope do the citizens of the world yearning to be free have now? There's nowhere to go, and no way to get there if there was somewhere to go, and no one to help. Gee, when will the Feds copy the Chinese and decide that no one can leave the country? Perhaps we should just pack up that embassy and bring it home. Save ourselves some money anyway. Take care of that debt. Then we can tell China to stick it where the sun don't shine. I'm all for non-intervention until someone comes to the door begging asylum--handing this guy back to his government is a death sentence. We all know this.

Yes, it probably is a death sentence, but it's not our affair and there are very compelling reasons stay out of it.

Posters like annfan_777 are so one-dimensional. They are like little children who only think about the result they want, and not what happens as a consequence of getting what they want. They dont care about the means, just as long as the end result suits them. As I understand it, that's the liberal mantra.

Copypasta again? Your rude and unoriginal.

You also havent denied the truth of what I said. Rather you attempt to deflect by attacking me. Good show, that puts you in Obama's league.

When they come for you Thomas, I will mind my own business!

The Obama administration's record on human rights, never strong, just got a whole lot worse. This week's dramatic saga of Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng's escape from house arrest in Shandong province to safety inside the U.S. Embassy to the embassy's role in handing him over to Chinese authorities is a disgraceful tale. Once again, the Obama administration has chosen to put human rights violations on the back burner, as it has nearly every time it has been asked for help, whether from Iranian protesters in 2009 or Syrian freedom fighters today.

Chen's fate was complicated by the arrival in...
