There is not much difference between our current corporate tax and a VAT. Both are sales taxes hidden from consumers. Both are collected at each point in the line of production.
The elephant in the room is the FairTax. It's a sales tax that replaces the income, payroll, corporate, gift, estate, capital gains, self-employment, and alternative minimum taxes. Workers take home their gross pay. Only retailers fill out tax forms. The FairTax monthly rebate, offered to all legitimate American households, guarantees the poor pay zero federal taxes.
