mhood: Wrong about one thing. Israel today doesn't put women into front line combat roles. They did when the country was first formed but they find there were too many problems. They serve in other roles today. Women can do the same mental jobs as men, sometimes better, but they are not able to do the same physical jobs. And combat is very physical.

And, if our own govenment finds it doesn't work they, too, will change it! It is a given that women are not as strong as men, it would take a couple of idiots to argue that point, BuT they can serve a purpose and free-up a man for duties more important. During WWII women played a BIG role in Englands defense of their country - not in combat, but their participation released a man for that job. The same thing can be done here -

Israel found that co-ed combat units suffered 3X the casualties of men-only units.
and Israel only fights close to home,they don't deploy all over the world like the US does.
Israel can rotate soldiers back to Israel easily.
