Many years ago now a professor at Berkley ran a study about racism. He would have students of different racial backgrounds answer a test. They were told it was to determine what race was racist. The students THOUGHT it was to get their impressions of others. Instead, it was meant to score their own racism. One example the professor gave: There were two questions on the questionare. One was at the first and one close to the end. The first question was: "If you enter a restaurant and a [pick a race] person meets your eyes, is he racist?" The second question was: "If you enter a restaurant and a [pick a race] person does not meet your eyes, is he racist?"

As the professor pointed out, a person who answers both questions "Yes" has identified himself as racist as both questions cannot be yes for the person looking at you.

He discovered that the most racist group was black. Mexican was second. Whites were dead last. Most of the blacks always assumed that the other was racist in any situation - which means they themselves were the racist person by always blaming others.

The only reason the professor wasn't fired was because he was black too.

That is a very interesting story.
Brandon, a 9-year-old black kid, attended a campaign rally hosted by Michelle Obama. A cameraman interviewed Brandon, who was there with his dad. "Why does (Obama) need to win?" he was asked. "Because if Mitt Romney wins," he replied, "we'll be going back to the crop fields. We'll be picking crops." Off-screen, his father could be heard laughing.

From whom does a 9-year-old hear that Obama's opponent is a racist who, to quote the Democratic National Committee chairwoman, wants "to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws"?

Brandon's father might alert his son to a recent column...
