It's No Way to Fight a War On Terror

I see you are in NY. Have they suceeded yet? I'm hoping so ...

K is a terrorist by his own agknowledgement. We declared war against terrorists. It doesn't matter if they don't have a country or any army. It means they are a danger to us and every other country of the world and need to be exterminated. Whether they are a criminal or not does not matter. Bringing evidence in court requires us to tell all the OTHER terrorists we have not caught yet how we knew how to catch him and what he did. And THAT means we cannot use the same tactics to catch them.

Further, by having the trial in New York City, it means that the terrorists, already in our country, know the exact time and place where he will be. At most they will...

I get where President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder are coming from. They think that if we change our way of life, the terrorists will have won.

In principle, I agree. If upholding our values makes fighting the war on terror harder, then it should be harder.

That's why I don't care much that it will cost more money to try suspected terrorists in the Big Apple than it would in the state-of-the-art facility at Guantanamo Bay. Similarly, while the security concerns stemming from a trial in New York are real, I think we can handle them....
