The reason the employers cannot find qualified employees here is because our beloved government insists on teaching more than the basics ... such as sex education, sports, and environmentalism. So our children don't learn the basics and therefore can't compete. When the teachers can't do the work they expect the children to do (and many can't pass the tests they give the children) they shouldn't be teaching. Additional money is NOT the problem. Getting money from another source won't do anything to help as long as the kids don't get the correct knowledge and the teachers don't know what they are trying to shove into the students.

The progressive movement has always portrayed itself as one of "choice." They’re pro-choice when it comes to abortion and believe women should have the choice of a wide array of birth control that someone else pays for. Unfortunately, they stop short when it comes to "school choice."

For progressives, there’s a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to our children’s education. Problems are attributed to inadequate funding as opposed to a fundamental flaw in the foundation of our educational system.
