Real problems:

shortage of doctors (and think how long they have to go to school so we need to act now)

malicious nuisance suits

ERISA shield

government mandates that drive up costs

loopholes where the sick get ripped off by insurance

Medicare, Medicaid, & SCHIP bankrupting us all

run-away long-term care costs

ALL of that is SERIOUS and VERY REAL. ALL unaddressed by Obamacare--in fact, made far worse.

Private Insurance Reform
Tort Reform
Increased Number of Doctors and Nurses
More Funding for VA & IHS
Some streamlining of FDA new drug...

WASHINGTON -- President Jimmy Carter once sent a note to an adviser extolling the importance of crisis to leadership. "When a president has authority to act unilaterally (as in a crisis), his leadership can be exerted. Otherwise, compromise, delay and confusion are more likely. It's our system. I like it."

Politicians, like the rest of us, are often victims of their wishes. Carter was eventually smacked by the waves of crisis he sought to ride.
