Some of you columnists only attribute the 1994 Republican take-over of Congress to the economy and healthcare, but the NRA and its members also were a large part of that rout. Remember that Clinton helped to pass the so-called assault weapons ban. As a result, law-abiding gun owners rose up in force and let their displeasure be known. Even Clinton acknowledged this fact.
