Chris, I appreciate the fact you bring the words of wisdom on what a real person can do. While it may seem like whistling past the graveyard at least it is something. It would be interesting to see some what if examples. What if the dollar collapses to the point that 1 oz of gold = 20,000 an ounce, 50,000 an ounce.? What would the cost of a loaf of bread, gallon of milk, dozen eggs, gallon of gas etc. ? You know real numbers that real people can relate to. What amount of gold could make a life saving difference? What other investments? real estate, etc.??

Gold, Platinum, Silver, I wonder which the Federal gubmint will confiscate first?

Catball, How about this, you get to go to your side of the hill, and we get to keep the money we pay the federal govt, you know that epa,fda, etc. We force the post office to pay for itself and then we pay our local teachers without Federal dept of education, we pay our local firemen and cops. We pay our bills at the hospital which pays the nurses and doctors. And you get to live on the side of the hill run by the federal government. You get only the gubmint cheese you pay for, the federally controlled education you pay for not us. hmmmm. looks pretty bleak to me. but whatever floats your boat.
