If you understood the Old Testament at all, you would know that the OT law is no longer encumbent upon those of us who call ourselves Christian. We are under the grace of Jesus Christ, not under the Law of the Old Testament. And since we are no longer under the Law, we are no longer required to follow every bit of the Law. Does that mean we should completely ignore it? Of course not - but it also means that we do not follow the letter of the Law either. Instead, we follow the grace given to us under the New Covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ, and follow what He told us to do. Which is to love one another as we love ourselves.
