How do we fix the mess? Cutting spending costs politicians votes. More spending, as Obama well knows, garners votes. The Fairtax would immediately close all loopholes, would put thousands of dollars into everyone's pocket, and would bring trillions of dollars back to our shores from overseas. It would also stop all the bickering and false posturing about how much to raise taxes. Under the Fairtax the decision on how much to pay in taxes is all in the complete control of the citizens. You are only taxed when you buy something.

The more time we must deal with the latter type, the less time and energy we have to deal with life’s real problems and challenges.

The political crises which emanate from Washington are invariably problems...
