In 1883 the poet Emma Lazarus wrote “The New Colossus”, a poem familiar to most and engraved on a bronze plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty.

Here’s my revised interpretation of her poem updated to our needs in the 21st century.

{Give me your well educated, your highly skilled,
Your honest, energetic, law–abiding citizens
Yearning to assimilate and contribute to a Free nation.
The most gifted and talented of your teaming shores,
The best, and brightest: send these to me.
For them, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
All others need not apply.}

I really regret having missed the funeral. It would have been nice to be assured the A$$ Hole was DEAD.

Im a 747 Captain with over 26,000 hours and 37 years of airline flying experience. Im also an airline instructor / Check captain and a designated FAA examiner. From my considerable experience I can tell you that the airlines are already the most government regulated industry in the country. Despite such regulation there will always be accidents, caused by mechanical failure, human error and weather related phenomenon. Despite our best efforts, we still cant control the weather, and mechanical components will continue to fail. Pilots, even good ones, will occasionally make fatal mistakes. And marginal to incompetent ones will occasionally slip through the cracks and manage to pass check rides. It is impossible to legislate all...
If Bruce actually read "Atlas Shrugged", apparently not only didn’t he fully understand what Ms. Rand described 50 years ago, he’s unable to correlate it to what’s now happening to this country. So if there was doubt as to Bruce’s intellectual capabilities, he’s now dispelled such doubt. If this were just a matter of points of disagreement, I’d discuss them. But when someone demonstrates a clear lack of ability to understand issues, then I recommend we ignore him, as I will now do. He’s not worth wasting discussion time.

Exactly the point of my previous post which emphasizes that not only will some of us become outlaws, many of us already are and proudly proclaim so. Unlike IGNORANUS Libs like Bruce, many of us refuse to be “Sheeple” and defy all Unconstitutional laws. And though government may try to use such laws as leverage, it wont work. Our numbers grow rapidly with the passage of each new law infringing on liberty, and outpace governments capacity to build prisons to hold us all. We...
How about this for "Rules for Protest" to control Town Hall meetings? Democrats have recently bussed in so called “Community Organizers” like Acorn and Union thugs to physically attack those critical of Obamas talking heads. It reminds me of Strike Busters in the 1930s hired by Companies to discourage Unions. But there are now rumors that some planning to attending Town Hall meetings are resorting to their "rules" due to the threat of physical violence being organized by Democrats and their “community organizer” stooges: 9mm Rules
As I read articles like this, I ask myself: Who would obey such legislation? Obviously not someone like me, judging from my collection of so called “illegal weapons” which include numerous handguns with high capacity, (greater then 10 round mags), an AK47, and lets not forget the switch blade knife issued to me when I was a Navy fighter pilot. And then the answer came to me. Other than Real Criminals, those who obey such IGNORANUS legislation are the “Sheeple”, most of whom are liberals; the same Sheeple / Libs who institute such legislation. The rest of us just laugh and ignore it.

"Brown Shirts" vs. Purple Shirts

Re: SEIU President Andy Sterns boast: "..."We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn't work, we use the persuasion of power.."

A word of advise to Mr. Sterns and his thugs. I have it on good authority that as result of these attacks, some of those so called "Brown Shirts” who these thugs intend to “persuade” at future meeting now carry our own “Power of Persuasion”: the 9mm kind. So these “Purple Shirts” may want to rethink their strategy.
As with SS; govt. can be mandate automatic withholding for health care for anyone receiving a paycheck. But how govt. can “force” self employed, (and there’s lot of us), to “voluntarily” buy govt. health care. Anyone have any ideas?
