A Losing Immigration Strategy

If you read Heather McDonald's research on the Hispanic population, you would know that what this article is recommending will lead to the whole country turning into CA. Maybe the majority of them come here for employment, but they will vote their pocketbooks. I work closely with this population and can tell you that they do not value education, their children will not necessarily be like their hard working fathers, lots of out of wedlock births which will help keep them in poverty and they are all getting handouts. They think we are rich and have no problem taking whatever they can get. They are no more ethical or religious than any other group. And what about the high unemployment rate??

They have a 50% High School dropout rate and a 50% unwed birth rate. Is this what we need more of in our country?
Everyone in Washington is showing new interest in immigration reform. President Barack Obama needs to do something to cement the loyalty of Hispanics, who did so much to re-elect him. Republicans seem to grasp that they had better soften their hard line unless they want to forfeit any hope with Latinos and Asian-Americans.

Both sides also agree that a balanced, two-part approach is in order: stricter enforcement and improved border security on one hand and a pathway to legalization on the other. It's an excellent plan -- except for that first part.

To say we need more enforcement to seal the border is...
