Here's what the feckless Republican party has told its dupes to parrot about the USA's annual budget. "Federal spending in 2008 was $2.98 trillion under Bush, the highest spending of any one year during his Presidency. Obama 2009 = $3.52 trillion; Obama 2010 = $3.46 trillion; From: http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/fed_spending_2010USrs" Here's what these lapdogs do not know. 2009 belongs to GEORGE W. BUSH. These years are FISCAL YEARS. FY2009=(Oct.08-Sept.09) Bush signed the 2009 Fiscal Year budget. Bush handed out the TARP money to Wall Street; Obama got it back. Bush moved the costs of the wars off-budget; Obama put it on the budget. Let's not forget; the Republicans lie and American soldiers die.
Who here thinks giving RyanCare to military veterans is the small government, free market conservative principled approach that this country should strongly consider? Abolish the Veteran's Administration and hand it over to the states to administer.

Here's the typical Republican/TeaParty response. Yeah, but not all of the flood insurance money goes to millionaires with million dollar homes. Oh....Ok, I guess that makes it Ok.
more from www.gop.gov/bill/112/1/hr1309 "Under both current law and this legislation, the NFIP may borrow an additional $3 billion from the Treasury." "CBO also estimates that the changes made by H.R. 1309 would increase net income to the NFIP by $4.2 billion over the 2012-2021 period." "H.R. 1309 would impose intergovernmental and private-sector MANDATES, as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act (UMRA), on public and private mortgage lenders." Why do I get the feeling that this Republican-controlled Congress will be adept at redistributing wealth from the bottom-up? Why wasn't this program ABOLISHED?
The National Flood Insurance Program(NFIP) is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA). The 2005 hurricane season resulted in claims which the program's annual premium income could not cover. To pay claims, the NFIP borrowed from the U.S. Treasury. Prior to 2005, the NFIP's borrowing authority had been limited by statute to $1.5 billion. Congress made up for the shortfall by increasing the program's borrowing authority three times between September 2005 and January 2007 (from $1.5 billion to $20.8 billion). The NFIP currently owes $17.775 billion to the U.S. Treasury. http://www.gop.gov/bill/112/1/hr1309 Thank you Republican-controlled Congress from January, 1995 through January, 2007.
Paul Ryan's votes for Medicare Part D and the bailouts in 2008 made it clear. He is dangerous because of the attention he receives as a beacon for the GOP. There is hardly a constitutional bone in his body. Congressman Ryan's actual record leaves much to be desired. The issue Ryan is most known for is his interest in cutting the deficit and balancing the budget. Ryan is a STATIST who goes with the Republican flow. But why did the Congressman vote to bail out the auto industry, to pass the Medicare package to the tune of $400 billion, and to nationalize education via No Child Left Behind?
This Republican-controlled Congress overwhelmingly passed "H.R. 1309: Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2011" on July 12, 2011. It's purpose: "To extend the authorization of the national flood insurance program, to achieve reforms to improve the financial integrity and stability of the program, and to increase the role of private markets in the management of flood insurance risk, and for other purposes." Why does the government subsidize millionaires buying insurance for their large homes on beachfront property? Most of this money goes to two states; Florida and Texas. When I was a kid, most beachfront dwellings were cottages. Now, thanks to taxpayer financed insurance, wealthy people build mansions.
We all know the presently-parsimonious Paul Ryan spent the lights out for eight years while Tom DeLay and Company ruled the House of Representatives. Folks, let's consider the spending packed into the Young Gun's holster: * Ryan voted for eight straight GOP budgets which hiked spending by $1 trillion - all told, Ryan voted for $20 trillion in budget spending alone. * Ryan helped finance two wars off of the budget books * Ryan voted for the Medicare Part D plan, which former GAO head David Walker called an $8 trillion unfunded mandate. Indeed, Paul Ryan, your hypocrisy is an unseemly trait. Ryan at his core, as can be told from his voting record during the Bush years, is a statist, big government man.
