I'm so tired of those on the right describing arguments from the left as "talking points" without addressing the substance of the claims. We can all recognize the other side's consistently used talking points, but generally the critiques of such come in the form of debunking the substance of the point, and then dismissing it as a "talking point" AFTER displaying the obvious ridiculousness of the proposition.

Otherwise, it's akin to an ad hominem attack--condemning the source without addressing the claim.
