Again, this is basic logic. _______________________________________________ It is only logical to assume that if swords had already been replaced by guns in Jesus's day, then a sword for protection would have been rendered useless. No? So it is safe to assume that a gun would have been acceptable to Jesus for protection. How many people are carrying swords today?

You really don't have a clue, do you?

I'm sorry to say but it is you that doesn't have the critical thinking ability. Jesus used all the tools available to him of his time period.

And when the tools he needed were not available to him he used his Father's supernatural powers.

i really believe that my side is the logical side of the argument. Please fully explain your side... who knows I might change my mind.

But your one liners have no meaning to me.

Yeah, that's not at all the point I was making. But good job at attacking those strawmen, 08. You kill't em good.

"i really believe that my side is the logical side of the argument. Please fully explain your side... who knows I might change my mind."

Either Jesus' reasons for self-defense are purely authoritative (do x, cause I say so) or his reasoning is justified outside of his authority (do x, because of reasons A, B & C). The latter is compelling, because the argument stands on it's own and not based on a fallacy of authority (E=mc2 cause Einstein says so).

"But your one liners have no meaning to me.

Yet you make them routinely.

Nawlins, where in all of Scripture is it EVER said we ought not defend ourselves against those who would harm us? 'Turn the other cheek' does NOT mean that we passively allow others to run roughshod over us.

Once again, there's a reason why the Church here on Earth is called the Church Militant. Guess why?

Where am I arguing this, Alive? Show me where I claimed that the Bible says "x,y or z"? You guys are great at killing strawmen, though.

Great! You agree that we can protect ourselves from predators.

As most of you know, during a football game last week Bob Costas lectured us po’ goofy Americans about the evils of a “gun culture” and how we need to evolve away from being obsessed with firearms. As soon as I heard that drivel roll off Mr. C’s tongue I ordered another 30/06, a sweet Walther PPK and a custom .416 Rigby turnbolt. Cowabunga, Bob. Thanks for reminding me to buy more guns.

First off, let me help you, Robert: Guns do not kill people. Dads with daughters do. Oh, and BTW, Planned Parenthood kills a lot of people...
