It is only logical to assume that if swords had already been replaced by guns in Jesus's day, then a sword for protection would have been rendered useless. No?
So it is safe to assume that a gun would have been acceptable to Jesus for protection. How many people are carrying swords today?

But your one liners have no meaning to me.
Either Jesus' reasons for self-defense are purely authoritative (do x, cause I say so) or his reasoning is justified outside of his authority (do x, because of reasons A, B & C). The latter is compelling, because the argument stands on it's own and not based on a fallacy of authority (E=mc2 cause Einstein says so).
