TELL BERKELEY, CA: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED
The Berkeley, California City Council has let it be known that they think United State Marine recruiters are "uninvited and unwelcome intruders" in their city. They voted to oust Marine recruiters from their offices and granted Code Pink protesters space to impeded the work of the Marine Corps recruiters.
Their anti-war beliefs have distorted their ability carry out their responsibilities as government officials.
To: The Berkeley City CouncilCc: U.S. Senate, U.S House of Representatives
From: A Concerned Citizen I am outraged by the actions of the Berkeley City Council. The U.S. Marines are a crucial part of our Armed Forces which young men and women join to serve their nation and defend their county. They deserve our support and sincere gratitude when they do. Many have sacrificed dearly for the freedoms that leaders in Berkeley take for granted. Berkeley, California is not its own sovereign nation and would certainly expect the support of our Armed Forces in the event of a crisis. They should keep their adolescent protests to themselves and show the Marines the respect they deserve and have earned. I support efforts in Congress like the Semper Fi act that pull back funding for projects in Berkeley. If Berkeley is hostile to our nation’s defenders, it doesn’t need our tax money either.
