FILE - In this June 28, 2005 file photo, members of the Lebanese parliament meet during the inaugural session in Beirut. Lebanon's parliament moved to extend its term Wednesday, skipping scheduled elections because of deteriorating security in the country linked to the raging civil war next door in Syria. The decision is a blow to Lebanon's tradition of free elections in the midst of an Arab world ruled by autocratic governments, but may help diffuse tensions at a critical time for the fragile and deeply divided country.
