Same-sex couples and their supporters marched through the streets of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina, January 14, 2013 after seeking marriage licenses that they knew they would be denied. They sang "as long as it takes, love won't be denied" as they walked in the rain. Holding the "We Do" sign at the front is Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, executive director of the Campaign for Southern Equality, which is leading the "We Do" push for marriage equality in seven Southern states in January. She also is a minister in the United Church of Christ. REUTERS/Colleen Jenkins
