A 6-year-old boy died during the parade after he was ran over by a float when he tried to pick up sweets, according to Malaga's Mayor Francisco de la Torre. Torre added that organizers wanted to suspend the parade after the incident but the victim's father convinced them to continue with the parade for the sake of all the children in Malaga.
