TO GO WITH STORY : HUNGARY LAND SCANDAL - In this picture taken Oct. 10, 2012, a National Land Management Organization official talks on his phone while standing on land won by a farmer, before its handover ceremony outside the village of Gomba, central Hungary. Hungarian farmers say that the government has not kept its promise to lease out local lands to them, and they allege that most of the lease contracts of the state lands are being awarded to political cronies. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his conservative Fidesz party are being widely accused by village farmers of broken campaign promises, cronyism and shady deals in which friends, relatives and political supporters have snapped up valuable long-term agriculture leases on state lands, cutting out many small local farmers.
