A couple walks past a banner demanding for political activist Mumia Abu-Jamal to be freed during the traditional Ostermarsch (Easter March) rally denouncing war and non-peaceful foreign policy in Berlin April 7, 2012. The Ostermarsch is an anti-war and anti-nuclear protest movement that dates back to the civil rights movements in the 1950s and 60s. Abu-Jamal, a former member of the Black Panther militant group, was convicted and sentenced to death in 1982 for murdering a police officer Daniel Faulkner in an early morning confrontation on December 9, 1981.
