Newly produced bottles are seen on the production line in Serbian Glass Factory in the town of Paracin, some 160 km (99 miles) south of Belgrade March 5, 2012. Founded in 1907, the glass factory was privatised 100 years later and employs some 1700 workers. It is the only factory of its kind in Serbia with the industry declining during the painful transition from communism to capitalism since the fall of Serb strongman Slobodan Milosevic in 2000. Unemployment in Serbia has now reached 27 percent as the country, now an official candidate for membership of the EU, struggles with falling demand and waning investment interest from the crisis-hit euro zone.
