Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno holds a booklet containing a document outlining the necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba at a presentation to reporters in Havana September 14, 2011. The U.S. embargo, 'bloqueo' (blockade), as it is known in Cuba, is in place since 1962 with the aim of destabilizing the island's Communist government, forbids U.S. companies in most industries from doing business with Cuba and also forbids ships that have sailed to Cuba from entering U.S. waters for six months.
