An illegal immigrant leans on a plaque marking the U.S. boundary with Mexico at Las Margaritas border crossing in Nogales, in the Mexican state of Sonora, July 26, 2010. Mexico and nine other Latin American countries have joined a brief supporting one of the lawsuits opposing a new controversial Arizona immigration law. The law, which takes effect on July 29, requires state and local police, during lawful contact, to investigate the immigration status of anyone they reasonably suspect of being an illegal immigrant.
