Kashmiri protesters shout anti-election slogans during a protest in Gandarbal, 22 km (17 miles) east of Srinagar November 21, 2008. At least 18 people were wounded in Kashmir on Friday when Indian police clashed with Muslim demonstrators protesting against ongoing state elections in the disputed region. Police used teargas and batons to disperse hundreds of stone-throwing demonstrators shouting "We want freedom," and "La ilaha illalah" (There is no god, but Allah) in several parts of Kashmir.
