Vice President JD Vance rebukes European leaders for squelching freedom of speech and conscience. US-Ukraine relations sour as Trump, Zelensky trade barbs

Wed, Feb 19, 2025 at 12:30 pm
Relations between the United States and Ukraine have taken a turn for the worse. President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky are engaged in a bitter public feud, which is souring relations between the two countries. Zelensky, unhappy that he was left out of talks to end the Ukraine-Russia war, said Donald Trump was living in a Russian-made “disinformation space” and wanted the White House team “to be more truthful.” The president snapped back, calling Zelensky “a dictator without elections” who better “move fast” before losing his country.

Trump Transgender Policies Challenged in Court

Sat, Feb 8, 2025 at 4:11 am

Two Trump administration executive orders targeting the rights of transgender and nonbinary people are facing fresh court challenges. Reporter Bernie Bennett has more.

VERBATIM: Three Democratic states sued Friday over the order to ban federal funding for gender-affirming care for transgender people under 19. It’s at least the second challenge to the policy that was put forth late last month.
Trump signed an executive order last month directing federally run insurance programs, including Medicaid and TRICARE for military families, to exclude coverage for such care. It also calls on the Department of Justice to pursue litigation and legislation to oppose it.
Trump also signed an executive order on Wednesday intended to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports.
