What a difference a week makes.
Snow fell in the Scottish highlands Tuesday, just days after record-breaking warm temperatures in northeastern Scotland.
The temperature hit 0 Celsius (32 Fahrenheit) and seven inches (17 centimeters) of snow fell.
That compares to 23.6 Celsius (75 Fahrenheit) last week in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, a new high in Scotland for the month.
Britain's Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for Scotland, as well as parts of northern England.
