A partial government shutdown is looming at week’s end

House Speaker Mike Johnson is looking to schedule a vote tomorrow (TUE) on the 99-page bill, with a view to Democrats responsible for a potential partial government shutdown. He’ll again need total GOP support to thread the needle. Congress must act by Friday midnight. when the current continuing resolution expires. House Republicans unveiled a spending bill Saturday that would keep federal agencies funded through September 30th. Trump praised the bill, posting on his Truth Social platform that Republicans have to “remain UNITED — NO DISSENT —.”

DOJ resists judge’s demand over deportation flights data

The Justice Department is playing hardball with a federal judge over the administration’s deportation policy. The DOJ is resisting a federal judge’s demand for more information about flights that took deportees to El Salvador over the weekend. It argues that the court is intruding into the executive branch’s authority. The administration has until noon today to either provide the requested information or to make a claim that it must be withheld because it would harm “state secrets.”

U.S. To Build Seven New Miles Of Wall In Arizona

Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem says the U.S. will begin work on a new seven mile stretch of border wall.  She announced on X the U.S. is building another stretch of wall in Arizona, and punctuated the message with her phrase. “Make American Safe Again.” On his first day in officie in 2021 President Biden halted all border wall construction. Combind with lax enforcement at the border that allowed millions of illegals to enter the country.  Noem says illegal border crossings have already decreased by 95% under President Trump.

Poll Shows People Opposed to Violence Against Tesla

A majority of voters reject the wave of vandalism that has emerged since President Donald Trump appointed Tesla CEO Elon Musk to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Bernie Bennett explains.

VERBATIM: The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 53% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of the protests against Tesla because of Musk’s role in the Trump administration, including 36% who Strongly Approve. Thirty-nine percent (39%) disapprove of the anti-Tesla protests, including 28% who Strongly Disapprove.

The survey of 1,219 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on March 12-13 and 16, 2025 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
