Rain was forecast Sunday for the Ohio Valley and parts of the Northeast. Thunderstorms were possible in an area extending from Alabama to the Mid-Atlantic states as a cold front moves through the region. A lingering frontal system was expected to generate scattered showers in parts of Florida. Below normal temperatures were expected to persist in the Great Lakes region. The high pressure ridge that brought record highs to the West for the past several days was likely to continue to blanket that part of the country, though some cooling was anticipated in the coastal areas. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of 26 degrees at Alamosa, Colo., to a high of 113 degrees at Death Valley, Calif. ___ On the Net: Weather Underground: http://www.wunderground.com National Weather Service: http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov Intellicast: http://www.intellicast.com |
