DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — USA Gymnastics says the 2015 Women's National Junior Olympic Championships have been awarded to Des Moines, Iowa.
The event, which USA Gymnastics says will be held on May 15-16, has often been a springboard for future Olympic stars.
Iowa native Shawn Johnson and 2012 Olympic team champions Jordyn Wieber and Kyla Ross are among the most recent Americans standouts to emerge from the national juniors.
Junior Olympic national titles will be up for grabs in the all-around, the vault, the uneven bars, the balance beam and floor exercise.
