NEW YORK (AP) — A prosecutor says a defendant "knew exactly what he was doing" when he attacked a New York City therapist who got in the way of his plan to rob her officemate.Assistant District Attorney Evan Krutoy spoke Monday at the trial of David Tarloff. He is charged with murder.Tarloff's lawyers don't dispute he killed Kathryn Faughey (FAW'-hee) in 2008. But they argue schizophrenia kept him from understanding his actions.Defense lawyer Frederick Sosinsky says Tarloff believed God told him to save his mother from a nursing home he believed was mistreating her. He thought the robbery would get him money to take her to Hawaii.Tarloff was previously deemed mentally unfit. After doctors said he had improved, jury selection got started in 2010, but he was declared unfit again.
