MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a New Yorker charged in the fatal stabbing of a woman is suspected in two other killings dating back to 1993.
The NYPD, meanwhile, has notified Suffolk County police that a man in custody has a history of violence. That's because of the unsolved discovery of 10 people's remains near a Long Island parkway in 2010 and 2011.
Police say Lucius Crawford of Mount Vernon has already spent almost 30 years in prison for violent attacks in New York and South Carolina.
Mount Vernon police Commissioner Carl Bell says Crawford was charged with murder in the death of a woman found Tuesday in his home.
Police say Crawford is also being investigated in a 1993 Bronx killing and a Yonkers killing.
Crawford does not yet have an attorney.
