
MODESTO, Calif. (AP) — Officials have released the name of sheriff's deputy who was one of two people killed while trying to serve an eviction notice at a Central California apartment complex Thursday.Stanislaus County sheriff's officials say Deputy Robert Paris was killed when gunfire broke out around 11 a.m. The 53-year-old Paris was a 16-year veteran of the department.Officials say he is survived by his parents, a brother and two adult children.The name of the second person killed in the shooting has not yet been released.Meanwhile, the standoff continues with SWAT teams still surrounding the complex.
