NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge says Goldman Sachs chairman Lloyd Blankfein (BLANK'-fyn) can be forced to submit to a deposition in a civil case. The judge says that can happen even before the criminal trial of a former Goldman Sachs board member accused of insider trading.The order signed Tuesday by federal Judge Jed Rakoff (RAY'-kahf) says Blankfein and six others can be required to answer questions related to the civil case brought against former board member Rajat Gupta (GOOP'-tuh).Gupta faces an April criminal trial on charges that he conspired with Raj Rajaratnam (rahj rah-juh-RUHT'-nuhm) to break securities fraud laws through insider trading. If convicted, he faces up to 105 years in prison.Rajaratnam is scheduled to report to prison Monday. Blankfein testified at his trial.
