NEW YORK (AP) — For those who've been asking whether the Occupy Wall Street protests can last through the winter, the New York City protesters have an answer. On Monday, they began erecting what they described as military-grade tents designed to withstand winter temperatures and stave off hypothermia.Jeffrey Brewer is one of the protesters working to put up the tents. As of Monday morning, three were up and he was helping with the installation of four more.Brewer says another 20 of the 16-foot-by-16-foot tents are being ordered.Among the first tents is one for medics and another designated a safe space for women. The company that owns the park technically doesn't allow tents. But it has declined to enforce the rules for weeks.A call to Brookfield Office Properties wasn't immediately returned.
