(AP) — Arraignment has been postponed for a homeless man charged with the baseball bat beating death of a 74-year-old Walmart customer in Southern CaliforniaRichard Lawrence Kalfin made his initial court appearance Thursday in Bellflower Superior Court but did not enter a plea.The Long Beach Press-Telegram says Kalfin's arraignment was postponed to allow special counsel to be assigned to his case.The 47-year-old Kalfin is charged with murder with a special allegation that he used a deadly weapon. He faces 57 years to life in prison if convicted and remains jailed on more than $1 million bail.Investigators say Kalfin grabbed an aluminum bat in the Walmart store in Lakewood Tuesday and bludgeoned David Oakleaf during an apparently random attack.
