NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police officers are pleading not guilty to various charges in a sweeping corruption probe touched off by an investigation into whether a Bronx officer had ties to a drug dealer.The Bronx officer and two sergeants pleaded not guilty to drug and other charges. While investigators were listening in on wiretaps to the officer's phone, they heard calls from people seeing if he could fix tickets for them.The probe widened to include union officials. Authorities say the officers abused their authority by helping family and friends avoid paying traffic tickets.An internal affairs lieutenant pleaded not guilty to charges she tipped off fellow New York City police officers to the investigation.Ten other officers and five civilians face charges.
