First lady Michelle Obama led a pep rally at the field house at the Marines' Camp Lejeune to promote a new program to support military families.
Obama told Marine families at the base Wednesday that they need to raise their profiles. The first lady says the public doesn't always see the sacrifices and service provided by military families because they don't brag about it..
She says that dedication and lack of recognition is why she and Jill Biden got involved in the project.
Obama says the nearby city of Jacksonville is a model for how communities should respond to the needs of military families.
She says she hopes other communities around the nation will learn from Jacksonville's example.
