A relative of a Philadelphia abortion doctor is leaving prison after her bail was slashed, and the doctor's wife is also seeking freedom.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is charged with murder in the botched-abortion death of a patient and seven viable babies at his shuttered West Philadelphia clinic. The 70-year-old physician is ineligible for bail.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that his sister-in-law, 53-year-old Elizabeth Hampton, is being released on house arrest. Charged with perjury and obstruction, she has been in prison since authorities charged 10 clinic employees in January.

The doctor's wife, 50-year-old Pearl Gosnell, is due in court Friday to challenge her $1 million bail. She is charged with performing late-term abortions and conspiring with others in a corrupt organization.

Authorities had described the clinic as a "house of horrors."
