The U.S, Postal Service has suspended mail service to Libya.
The post office announced Wednesday that service was halted because of lack of transport to the north African country, where opponents of Moammar Gadhafi are battling forces loyal to the Libyan leader.
Mail service to Egypt was resumed Feb. 22 after having been suspended two weeks earlier because of unrest in that country.
