Riverside County authorities have confirmed that charred remains found in a Southern California backyard last month are those of a missing teenager.
Coroner's officials announced Tuesday that DNA testing confirmed the remains _ which included a severed foot _ belong to 17-year-old Adrian Rios.
He vanished on Nov. 15 after heading to the home of Jose Campos to watch a football game.
Hemet police suspect the 17-year-old Campos shot Rios and then made a bonfire and burned the body with the help of his girlfriend.
Campos and 17-year-old Felicia Sharp are fugitives.
Police arrested Campos' mother and stepfather on suspicion of being accessories to murder but they were released after prosecutors declined to file charges.
