Police say the fatal shooting of a mother and her young daughter may be connected to the deaths of another woman and her child found within hours in the same southern Wisconsin county.

Madison police say in a Thursday night statement that officers are looking for a man they consider a person of interest in all four deaths.

The statement says a woman and her young daughter were found fatally shot inside a vehicle parked in a Madison garage Thursday.

Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says another woman and her young daughter were found dead in a parking lot in suburban Middleton, also in Dane County.

DeSpain said investigators believe all four homicides were domestic in nature.

The victims' names and ages haven't been released.
