SAN DIEGO (Reuters) - Former San Diego Chargers linebacker Junior Seau was found dead from an apparent suicide at his home on Wednesday, the celebrity news website TMZ.com reported.
TMZ cited unnamed law enforcement sources as saying Seau, 43, a 12-time Pro Bowl player, appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
The San Diego County Coroner's Office confirmed that a person was found dead on Wednesday at Seau's address in the town of Oceanside, north of San Diego, but did not confirm whose body it was.
