Left-hander John Parrish and the Kansas City Royals have agreed to a minor league contract.
The 32-year-old Parrish missed last season because of a shoulder injury. He was 1-1 with a 4.04 ERA for Toronto in 2008, making six starts and seven relief appearances.
Parrish signed a minor league contract with the Orioles last year but didn't pitch during spring training because of a sore shoulder. He returned to Baltimore for exploratory arthroscopic surgery and missed the entire season.
Parrish is 13-13 with a 4.54 ERA in 16 starts and 158 relief appearances in seven major league seasons with Baltimore, Seattle and Toronto.
