The San Diego Chargers clinched a playoff spot while still playing the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, then secured the AFC West title with a 27-24 victory.
San Diego got at least a wild-card berth when Miami, Jacksonville and the New York Jets all lost this weekend. The Chargers (11-3) then won their ninth straight to take the division. They also are in prime position for a first-round playoff bye.
