Klay Thompson set a tournament scoring record with 43 points Saturday as Washington State beat San Diego 93-56 to win the Great Alaska Shootout.
Thompson, a 6-foot-6 sophomore guard, was 16 of 24 shooting, including 8 of 13 from the 3-point line. The record for most individual points in a game was 41, set by Glenn Robinson of Purdue in 1993.
Thompson was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Reggie Moore scored 16 points for Washington State (6-0), which led 39-32 at the half.
Brandon Johnson was the only player for San Diego (4-2) to hit double figures, finishing with 13 points.
